Teawomen

Teawomen (if i am so permitted to call them!) dot the undulating tea plantations, making tehm a visually stunning experience. The Reds, Blues and Yellows contrast brightly with the tea green. Most of the tea pickers we came across in Munnar were not of the hand picker breed. Instead, they had a huge scissor kind of stuff with a cloth bag hanging from it. They go through the lines of tea shrubs, as if trimming down the trees and in the process gathering cut leaves in the bag. I guess, they make the CTC (cut-turn-cured?) quality. The whole leaf quality of tea definitely nees to be hand picked, IMHO.
