Tea

Munnar and tea estates are synonymous. Everywhere the eye meets rolling hills with beautiful tea plantations. The shimmer of the green leaves when it catches sunlight gives it an aura, a charm. Tata-tea owns about 35 tea-estates in and around Munnar. Commercialization is restrained by the fact that there is only given real-estate for general use carved out of the dis-continuities of the tea-estates.
